Miss L. Stryke (Minifigure Contest Category 2)

Post  Dunjohn on Thu Jul 01, 2010 7:41 am

Why can't Dr. Inferno take over the world? Why isn't it simpler? He has all this neat technology, these great ideas, a volcano base, what more could he possibly need? How do the Agents keep defeating him, time after time? What do they have that he doesn't!?

The simple answer: Air superiority. Sure, Dr. Inferno has a couple of minijets, that weird claw helicopter that Spyclops built for himself, stuff like that, but they pale in comparision to the hardware the Agents can bring to bear. Helipacks, tactical choppers, jets both mini and maxi, and even that dual-blade assault platform that took Magma Commander down. Inferno hasn't a chance against equipment like that, without the right technology... and the right minion to command it. Someone who isn't afraid of a few empty kilometres of air on all sides. Someone who loves speed, respects it, breathes it. Someone with the know-how to design aerial machinery to match and beat the opposition.

An unhealthy fixation on explosions would be a plus.

Enter Miss L. Stryke.

Miss L. Stryke is a pyromaniac speed freak. If it explodes, she loves it. If it goes really fast, she adores it. If it goes really fast and then explodes, she's all over it. These are characteristics not best suited to Montessori school management, so instead she decided on another career path: evil.

Miss L. Stryke's rocket ship is a chunky beast compared to the agile fighters the Agents use, but there's a reason for that. It's packed with explosives, you see. Wing-mounted missiles, of course, plus a surprise for any targets foolish enough to make themselves primary. It's not designed for dogfights. This ship doesn't intend to get into a fight with any slow, lumbering robots. This ship points itself somewhere, and goes there.

It looks a bit sleeker from above than from in front, and a helluva lot safer. The huge engine at the back keeps the single massive thruster going full blast. The pilot sits further back than normal, to make room for the electronics that would normally occupy the nose cone. And the armoured nose cone contains a warhead.

Ammunition and missiles depleted? Target still not sufficiently flat? Then there's only one thing for it. Drop the hatch and exit on your all-terrain minibike (featuring working suspension, rocket boosters and even more missiles), then watch the rocket ship's Omega Program kick in.

The wings detach and drop away. The warhead arms. The rocket ship becomes a huge missile, and the target becomes a hill in China.

All of those exclamation points are not necessary at all. Three or four would have been fine.

Nice ship! I really like it! It would go along great with the Agents theme!
